Echoes of African Black – A Tribute to Tradition, Blended with Creamy Goat Milk Luxury

This bar is a little different than our usual lineup—and in the best possible way. Echoes of African Black is our farm-crafted blend of creamy goat milk soap and traditional African black soap made using time-honored techniques in Ghana. We gently fold the two together, using authentic black soap crumbles and blending them into our signature recipe to create a bar that’s both familiar and steeped in heritage.

The African black soap we use is handmade by women in Ghana and sourced through fair trade partnerships. These partnerships ensure that the artisans receive a living wage for their work—helping to lift their families and communities while preserving traditional methods that might otherwise be lost to mass production and corporate shortcuts. When you lather up with this bar, you’re part of that story, too.

African black soap is beloved for a reason. Made with raw shea butter, coconut oil, cocoa pod ash, and other skin-loving botanicals, it brings a rich depth of tradition, a dark earthy color, and a subtle smoky scent to each bar. The crumbles are unrefined and natural, so every batch has its own character—just like our goats.

To complement the earthy richness of the black soap, we scent this bar with a soft fragrance oil blend of shea and vanilla, a subtle scent, with warm vanilla up front and a whisper of earthiness in the background. Perfectly fitting for this grounded, rustic bar.

We pair that tradition with our own farm-favorite formula: a blend of coconut oil, palm oil, shea butter, kokum butter, grapeseed oil, high oleic sunflower oil, and castor oil. We also include kaolin clay and tussah silk for added glide and a silky finish.

Because our soaps are handmade and hand-cut, each bar is a little different. We label each at a minimum of 4 oz to stay consistent, but many cure out between 4.5 and 4.75 oz — so you’ll usually get a bit more than what’s on the label.
