Calabria is like a breath of fresh Mediterranean air—clean, coastal, and quietly luxurious. The fragrance opens with hints of lemon zest and sea mist, then settles into a breezy blend of myrtle, rosemary, lavender, and Italian cypress. It’s more ocean-side villa than fruit grove—fresh, herbal, and lightly windswept.
We built this bar with a rich mix of oils, and what sets it apart is its high butter content: 20% of the oils in this recipe are butters—including cocoa butter, shea butter, and a lesser-known gem called sal butter. These butters don’t just make the lather feel silky and nourishing—they also help create a firm, long-lasting bar that holds up beautifully with regular use. Sal butter in particular gives this soap a creamy texture and strength that’s easy to love, and it naturally contains squalane, a plant-derived compound prized for its ability to soften and support the skin.
You’ll also find kaolin clay for a gentle polish and tussah silk to smooth the lather and add that extra touch of luxury.
Each bar is poured by hand, cured slowly, and scented to evoke sun-warmed stone, wild herbs, and the breeze rolling in off the sea.
Because each bar is handmade and hand-cut, the weight can vary a little. To err with caution on our labels, we list the weight of all bars at 4 oz, however, most end up weighing more, sometime 4.5-4.75oz — which means you often get more than you expect.
