Description
Bastile Goat Milk Soap is our take on a traditional bastile-style soap—formulated with a high percentage of olive oil and a short, intentional ingredient list. This bar is designed for those who value simplicity, purity, and a gentle cleansing experience.
We craft this soap using olive oil as the primary oil, known for its mild, conditioning qualities and skin-friendly feel. Fresh goat milk from our own goats replaces water in the recipe, contributing natural creaminess and helping support soft, comfortable skin. A small amount of castor oil is added to enhance lather, giving this bar a smooth, low-bubble cleanse rather than a stripping foam.
Free from fragrance and unnecessary additives, Bastile Soap is well suited for sensitive skin, fragrance-free households, and anyone looking for a back-to-basics bar. Its simplicity also makes it a favorite for hands, face, and full-body use.
Handmade in small batches at Lachenbock Farm in LaFayette, Georgia.

What is bastile soap?
Bastile soap is similar to Castile soap but includes additional oils—in this case, castor oil—to improve lather while keeping the formula gentle and olive oil–focused.
Is this soap unscented?
Yes. Bastile Goat Milk Soap contains no added fragrance or essential oils.
Is this soap good for sensitive skin?
Yes. This is one of our most minimal and gentle bars, made with a short ingredient list and no added scent.
Does this soap lather like regular soap?
Bastile soap produces a soft, creamy lather, not big bubbles. This is typical of olive oil–rich soaps and part of what makes them gentle.
Can this soap be used on the face?
Many customers use Bastile Soap as a facial cleanser, especially those with dry or sensitive skin.
Is this soap vegan?
No. This soap contains goat milk, so it is not vegan.
Why does the bar feel different from other soaps?
Olive oil–rich soaps tend to feel creamier and more conditioning, with a milder cleanse compared to coconut-heavy formulas.
How should I store this soap between uses?
Allow the soap to dry fully between uses on a well-draining soap dish to extend the life of the bar.
Where is this soap made?
