Bergamot Twist is the refined evolution of a longtime favorite formerly known as Bergamot & Honey. For over three years, this soap has been a year-round staple—loved for its unique balance of brightness, warmth, and subtle sweetness.  It’s one of our most popular soaps at markets — customers love its strong, long-lasting scent.

The scent is a crowd-pleaser: a blend of both fragrance and essential oils.  At its heart is bergamot: a citrus note that’s crisp, uplifting, and ever so slightly floral. It opens the senses like a morning breeze through an orchard in bloom. Beneath the Bergamot the twist set in, soft hints of strawberry lend a delicate fruitiness, while almond adds a creamy, comforting undertone. The balsamic base gives it depth—an earthy whisper that grounds the blend without overpowering it.

Though honey is part of the scent profile, its scent is subtle, more felt than smelled—adding a golden warmth that rounds out the experience. The new name, Bergamot Twist, reflects this harmony: a fresh take that honors the original while inviting new customers to discover its charm.

Crafted with a skin-loving blend of beef tallow, cocoa butter, and shea butter, this bar delivers a creamy, velvety lather that leaves skin feeling soft, pampered, and deeply nourished.

We’ve also didn’t just update the name—we gave the bar a whole new look too. The base is a swirl of golden yellow and soft earthy orange, a little visual nod to sun-soaked summer days. Dropped into that warm backdrop are delicate touches of orchid purple soap—meant to evoke the flowering bergamot in full bloom. It’s sunshine and blossoms, all wrapped up in a bar.

Because each bar is handmade and hand-cut, the weight can vary a little. To err with caution on our labels, we list the weight of all bars at 4 oz, however, most end up weighing more, sometime 4.5-4.75oz — which means you often get more than you expect.

This bar’s got more buttery goodness than Grandma’s biscuits on a Sunday morning. Between the cocoa butter, shea and beef tallow, it whips up a lather so rich and creamy if your skin could talk, it’d be asking for seconds.

Q: Why did you add tallow to this recipe?
A: Originally this bar was contained lard. Tallow is increasing in popularity in skincare and due to its higher melting point than lard creates an initially harder bar of soap. We’re embracing it in some of our soaps, so our customers have more options to choose from. This bar is a great introduction if you’re curious about tallow, and it still includes all the skin-loving oils and butters we’re known for.
